24 Mar Wyoming Supercell
June 16, 2015 – Lingle, Wyoming
Not a tree to be found for what seemed like hundreds of miles to obstruct our view of this gorgeous LP or “Low-Precipitation” supercell. Supercells in the south are more likely to be HP or “High-Precipitation” supercells. These cells make seeing tornadoes much harder as the cell is producing copious amounts of rain and the curtains of rain are often wrapped around a tornado, obscuring it from view. LP storms can be seen at times down south but are more prevalent in the high plains. These drier supercells offer spectacular views of the cell and everything that is going on with the storm.
