19 Sep RE/MAX Responds to Hurricane Harvey

As a full-time real estate agent for RE/MAX Trinity I make my living helping people accomplish their real estate goals. As a member of the Storm Warriors team I help Warn, Assist, and Restore communities that are in the path of Severe Weather. Those two worlds came together during the arrival of Hurricane Harvey.

The Storm Warriors team had been monitoring Hurricane Harvey days before it made landfall in the Rockport, TX area. We are always prepared to deploy based on the needs of the severe weather event. I reached out to my RE/MAX Trinity broker Jaci Coan to let her know I would be out of town heading down to the Texas Coast to intercept Hurricane Harvey and provide relief supplies to those in need. Without hesitation she asked what she could do and what kind of supplies we would need. Before the day was over we were at the RE/MAX office picking up cases of water and non-perishable food items to distribute to the Rockport / Aransas Pass area. Before we could leave town more RE/MAX Trinity agents jumped in and started dropping off donations at the office.

The next thing we knew Dana Tuggle RE/MAX of Texas Regional Vice President contacted us to see how the RE/MAX of Texas Team could assist. Dana herself had evacuated from Houston with her family due to the catastrophic flooding that had started and did not know when she would be able to return home.

The RE/MAX of Texas family quickly mobilized and the offices in the Houston area became distribution locations. RE/MAX agents picked up supplies and started hand delivering them into the neighborhoods and areas that had been affected by the flooding.

Currently the Storm Warriors Team has delivered multiple semi-trailers of donations and a semi-trailer full of ice to the Texas Coast and the Houston area. With Hurricane Season in full swing a lot of attention has shifted to Florida due to the devastation of Hurricane Irma. However, Southeast Texas and the Rockport / Aransas Pass area are going to be recovering for well over a year.

The Storm Warriors Team is continuing to coordinate and send teams to the Texas areas to assist in the restoration efforts. This is not a short term effort. Please do not forget about the victims of Hurricane Harvey. You can help our efforts by donating to TheWarriorsHeart.Org
